Solange's Story

When Solange first came to me, she wasn’t in something most people would call a crisis. There was no betrayal, no threat of divorce – just quiet disconnection. After nearly two decades of marriage, she felt like a supportive wife, a good mother, a competent partner… but not a woman anymore. There was no intimacy, no flirtation, no sense of being desired. And the worst part was that she couldn’t even remember when it started to fade.

She said she didn’t want to leave her husband. She just wanted to feel alive again. But after years of putting everyone else first, she didn’t know how to begin. She felt emotionally flattened, disconnected from her body, and lost sense of her own marriage. That’s when she discovered The HEART Formula®. Something in the structure of the program made her feel safe enough to try again, but this time from a different place.

From the very first session, we didn’t try to fix her marriage. We worked on rebuilding her as a woman. Solange committed fully to the process, one truth at a time. What followed was a slow, beautiful unraveling of everything she thought she had to be, and the beginning of a new kind of partnership, built from a place of love.

Uncovering emotional shutdown patterns

Solange didn’t yell and didn’t cry. She didn’t even complain. Her silence was polite, functional, and slowly erasing her. She showed up in every way that made her a “good partner,” but the emotional cost was steep. Her husband didn’t know she was hurting, because even she had stopped listening to that part of herself.

In our early sessions, we gently exposed how emotional self-abandonment had become a survival strategy. Years of avoidance, smoothing things over, and pushing feelings aside had created a numbness she confused with peace. She didn’t need to explode, she needed to feel again.

That shift opened the door. For the first time in years, Solange began to admit what hurt. Not dramatically, but truthfully. And in naming the pain, she began returning to herself.

Restoring emotional presence

Solange had been managing a household, not living in one. Her days were full of tasks, logistics, and caretaking, but empty of depth. She didn’t cry anymore, didn’t dream, didn’t desire. She was emotionally flatlined and couldn’t remember the last time she felt moved by anything just for herself.

We rebuilt her emotional rhythm gently. I guided her through grounding practices, emotional journaling methods, and rituals that reconnected her with moments of real feeling and femininity. She learned to identify what she needed before suppressing it and slowly, that inner life came back.

Her presence changed everything. Once she became emotionally visible to herself, her dynamic with her husband began shifting too. She wasn’t reacting anymore, she was initiating.

Redesigning communication

Solange and her husband hadn’t had a real conversation in years. They spoke, of course, but only about practical matters. Anything deeper felt either awkward or unsafe. She feared that bringing up feelings would create tension, so she avoided them entirely.

Together, we changed that. Solange learned how to communicate without blame, express vulnerability with strength, and ask for connection instead of hoping he’d offer it. I helped her practice short, clear expressions of truth that opened emotional doors without pressure.

Over time, her husband began meeting her there. With every honest, non-reactive moment she offered, he became more engaged. They started talking about more than dinner. Finally, they were talking about each other.

Reconnecting with sensual identity

Solange hadn’t felt like a woman in years. She was only playing a role: of a wife, a mother, an organizer. Her body became a utility. Intimacy felt mechanical, if it happened at all. She didn’t dislike herself, she had simply stopped inhabiting herself.

We began with permission. Permission to feel, to move, to reclaim pleasure as her own. Through guided sensuality practices, non-sexual touch, and image reinvention, she slowly returned to her body. It wasn’t about her husband, it was about remembering herself.

What followed was subtle but powerful. She began to move differently, speak differently, even dress in ways that reflected her emotional aliveness. And her internal fire reignited everything in her marriage, without a single word of pressure or expectation.

Rebuilding emotional trust

Though Solange hadn’t been betrayed in the traditional sense, trust was fractured. She didn’t trust that her needs would be met or even noticed. Years of being “fine” had taught her not to expect much.

We worked on building emotional safety from the ground up. She practiced naming small needs and tracking the outcomes. She tested boundaries and honored the results. She started to talk about her needs to her husband. He was surprised, because he always wanted her happiness, yet he had no idea about her needs as she never spoke about them before.

Slowly, her experience changed. Each time her honesty was received rather than rejected, trust grew. And with trust came softness, warmth, and emotional closeness she thought had vanished for good.

Restructuring emotional rhythm of the marriage

Over years, the daily rhythm of Solange’s marriage had become mechanical. Mornings were rushed, evenings were filled with tasks, and there was no intentional space for connection. It wasn’t that they didn’t care. They just had no structure for emotional presence.

We designed a new rhythm together. It wasn’t about adding pressure or “date nights” they’d dread. It was about small, meaningful rituals: a 10-minute check-in each evening, gentle touch before bed, a shared playlist in the kitchen. Simple acts with powerful results.

These new habits became anchors. The spouses didn’t need to “talk about everything” to feel close. They simply needed to reconnect daily, even briefly. The emotional climate in their home changed because the rhythm did.

Creating boundaries around depletion

Solange’s love language had become over-functioning. She did everything, like meals, planning, logistics, emotional labor, until there was nothing left for her. But beneath the resentment was a deeper truth: she didn’t believe she was allowed to ask for less.

We redefined love. She found out that love isn’t sacrifice, it is balance – giving and receiving. She learned to notice the signs of depletion and speak up early. I helped her build internal boundaries around self-preservation and external boundaries with her husband about shared responsibility.

The change wasn’t instant, but it was deep. As she reclaimed space for herself,  partnership with her husband grew. She stepped back and then he had a place to step up.  And the balance they created was not only sustainable, it was nourishing for both.

Designing a shared emotional future

Solange didn’t want perfection. She wanted her marriage to have meaning again and to feel something again. After years of just “getting through the day,” she needed to believe in a future that was emotionally rich and worth growing toward together with her husband.

We mapped out that future consciously. Not a fantasy, but a vision grounded in mutual values, shared rituals, and emotional agreements. They began planning more intentionally: how they’d connect, how they’d handle conflict, how they’d continue choosing each other.

This wasn’t about controlling every aspect of life but about creating direction. And with that vision in place, Solange felt anchored in hope. Not blind hope, of course, but one rooted in work, strong fundaments, and love that now had a clear path forward.
